# Mindfulness teacher training pathways

How UK mindfulness teacher training differs from short facilitation, what BAMBA registration actually requires, and why a Guild cohort is not that register.

## What should mindfulness teacher training include?

A prior eight-week as a participant, observed teaching of a course form, inquiry, personal practice, and a plan for extended practice or retreat. A weekend that skips those pieces is selling a title. BAMBA's public guidelines describe a year-scale pathway. Twelve weeks of honest observation is still not that year.

## Is Guild teacher training the same as BAMBA registration?

No. BAMBA registration requires training with a quality-assessed affiliate and evidence against that body's standards. The Guild is not that affiliate. Observed eight-week teaching is a better buy than an unwatched weekend diploma. It is not membership. The certificate should say so in the title line, not a footnote.

## Who should skip non-BAMBA teacher training?

Anyone whose commissioner named BAMBA this year. Anyone without a prior eight-week as a participant. Anyone who only needed a short facilitated practice. Anyone treating this as clinical MBCT for depression. Teacher training is the right buy for a course you will run. It is the wrong buy for a register stamp we do not hold.

BAMBA's public guidelines describe a year-scale pathway with supervised teaching of courses. Twelve weeks of honest observation is still not that year. If a commissioner will check the register, start from BAMBA. If you needed someone to watch you teach a course, with the limit printed, that is the product we sell.

## Common questions

**Does The Study Guild put you on the BAMBA register?**

No. We assess observed teaching of an eight-week form. BAMBA registration is a separate pathway.

**Do I need facilitation first?**

Only if you needed short practices rather than a course. Teacher training assumes an eight-week as a participant.
