Their ICF pathway includes structured mentor coaching and a performance evaluation against ACC markers, which we do not yet provide. Choose them also if you want a nine-to-twelve-month diploma, a large alumni network, or add-on diplomas in NLP, education or corporate coaching. We are not ICF-accredited yet. Pretending otherwise would be the comparison we refuse to write. ## Which is better for becoming a life coach? If you need an ICF or Association for Coaching accredited diploma, The Coaching Academy is the better buy today. If you want a shorter, cheaper, assessed cohort with a named marker, and the ICF register is secondary, we are a reasonable choice. They are not the same product at a different price. The Academy's ICF pathway is the thing we cannot currently match: Level 1 accreditation, mentor coaching, and a performance evaluation against ACC markers, at several thousand pounds and the better part of a year. That is a real product. Our programme is twelve weeks, assessed recordings, business training, and an honest pending ICF application. Some people do both — a short assessed cohort to find out whether they will submit work, then an accredited diploma if the register is the destination. That is a rational sequence. Buying the expensive diploma to avoid being observed is not. ## Why is The Coaching Academy so much more expensive? Because an ICF Level 1 diploma with mentor coaching and a performance evaluation has a different cost base from a twelve-week assessed cohort. Length, accreditation fees, and a large support operation show up in the price. A lower fee that implied the same ICF outcome would be the dishonest version. We will not sell that implication. Their AC pathway is listed cheaper than their ICF pathway. That gap is the market telling you the ICF route costs more to deliver. Check current fees on their site before deciding — they change, and they advertise promotions. ## Do you need their diploma to coach in the UK? No. Coaching is unregulated, so no diploma is legally required. Corporate buyers often want ICF or equivalent. Private clients ask who marked your work. The Academy is the direct answer to the first audience. Assessed practice with a named tutor is the direct answer to the second. Buy the one your market actually checks. ICF and AC accredited diploma pathways, nine-to-twelve-month depth, add-on diplomas in NLP, education, corporate and business coaching, a large alumni body, and a Trustpilot sample we do not yet have. Those are real advantages. A comparison that omitted them would be marketing. What we offer that they do not, on current pages: menopause and sleep coaching taught with a clinical boundary, CBT skills that refuse the therapist title, and AI programmes for UK accountants and solicitors. If that is the work you wanted, their life-coaching diploma is the wrong product, not a slower version of the same thing. ## Who should skip both providers? Anyone who wanted a protected clinical title — counsellor, psychologist, CBT therapist on a BABCP route. Anyone unwilling to be observed practising. Anyone who needed a cheap self-paced library to test an interest; Centre of Excellence is the better instrument for that.
