The ICF awards its credentials directly, not through training providers. Here is what an application actually requires, and which UK providers give you a route. ## Short answer The International Coaching Federation awards its credentials directly, never through a training provider. An Associate Certified Coach application needs 60 hours of coach-specific training, 100 logged client hours, 10 hours of mentor coaching and a performance evaluation. No course can grant the credential on the ICF's behalf. ## What does an ICF credential application require? For the entry-level Associate Certified Coach credential the ICF requires coach-specific training hours, a substantial log of paid or unpaid client coaching hours, mentor coaching delivered over several months, a recorded performance evaluation, and a written ethics assessment. Requirements rise at the higher credential levels. The exact hour counts and the routes available are set by the ICF and change periodically, so check their own credentialling pages before planning around any number — including the ones on this page. What matters strategically is the shape of it. Training hours are the part a provider supplies.
