Dietitian is a protected UK title. A short course cannot award HCPC registration. Preparation can map the degree; it cannot replace it. ## Short answer No. Dietitian is a protected title. Using it without Health and Care Professions Council registration is a criminal offence. Registration requires an HCPC-approved degree. A short diploma, coaching certificate or preparation cohort can teach the map and the limits. It cannot put you on the register, and it cannot make NHS dietetic work available. ## Is dietitian a protected title in the UK? Yes. The Health and Care Professions Council regulates dietitians.
